So you have just come up with a brilliant business idea and are all set to quit your day job to become an entrepreneur. Being able to bring your ideas to life can be scary, but also exciting.
However, all that passion and energy can start to fade if you aren’t careful. That’s why we have put together a few tips to keep the motivation and inspiration strong.
1. Surround yourself with positive people
As the boss of your very own business, there is bound to be a lot on your shoulders. That’s why it is so important to have people who support your dreams close by to pull you back up when you feel down.
2. Remember the ‘why’ of your business
It can be all too easy to feel disheartened when it feels like no one else is as passionate about your ideas as you are. When you begin to feel these thought resurface, reconnect with the reason you started all this and where this passion came from.
3. Practice gratitude everyday
While this may sound like strange advice, gratitude has proven to help keep motivation and positivity high even on a bad day. Start by trying to write down 3 to 5 things you are grateful for every day in a journal. When motivation starts to fade, reread your journal to remember how far you have come.
4. Keep moving forward
Even the most seasoned entrepreneur will have days where taking action seems nearly impossible. When all you want to do is curl up in bed and let the day pass you by, encourage yourself to get back up and move forward.
5. Don’t forget to take a breather
While it can be tempting to hole yourself up in the office and keep working, but remember that breaks are important too. Go outside. Walk. Read. Do yoga. Take up a hobby. Whatever you do, step away from the laptop and take a moment to ‘live’.
