The next step? Taking action. Unfortunately 80 percent of people who make New Year’s resolutions are already off track by. Why? Because they dont take action on their goal or put anything in place to achieve it.

Set Realistic Goals
The very first thing to consider before making a list of your goals is if they are realistic and can be achieved. When you set lofty and unattainable goals, you are just setting yourself up for failure. Stick to smaller and more realistic goals that are not going to seem impossible.

Every year it seems like there is a new fad diet or trend that everyone just has to follow. Don’t make this mistake when it comes to following your goals. Don’t follow any plans or ideas that other people are doing because it may end up being something temporary that just won’t provide you with the consistency you need to stick to your own goals.
Put An Action Plan Into Place
A goal is just a dream and will never become a reality unless you put a date on it and take action on moving towards that goal. When setting new goals ensure you have an end date on when you want to achieve the goal by and put an action plan into place on how you are going to achieve the goal.
Consult with a Coach
A life coach is someone you can consult if you need some extra advice or motivation to stick to your goals. They can also help keep you on track, keep you motivated, and make sure you are holding yourself accountable for what you are and are not doing. It helps you focus on your goals rather than neglecting them.
When you take these steps, you will find that sticking to those New Year goals you had written down at the beginning of the year will be a whole lot easier to do and will motivate you to continue to succeed in the future.
